Cydney, my intentions were to respond to this wonderful piece the moment I saw it. I had to actually gather my thoughts because your words reminded me and took me back to my childhood. I am so proud of you! You are blessed with a mother that nourishes your soul and moves mountains to make things happen for you! She has placed a village around you and makes sure that God is first in your life… Cyd, you at such a young age have realized what some 3 times your age have yet to discover…. Nothing my dear, will hold you back!! Wishing you all the happiness in the world !!! Luv Ya!

Cydney what a great interview. What an awesome mature young lady you have definitely become. Your mom and I often talked about our daughters and the level of maturity they have and the obstacles they were faced with at school and how they never ever succumbed to the peer pressure how they are age-appropriate and just beautiful strong smart young ladies. I’m so happy that you are happy and I’m so grateful that you recognize your mom for all the things that she does for you. Because she does so much she sacrifices 100% of herself so that you can be the best that you can be and it’s so good to see that you truly recognize and appreciate that. Great job Cydney awesome job

If I had a daughter, this is who I’d want her to look at and idolize….beyond impressive. I know how hard that must’ve been to openly discuss and she did it so eloquently and heartfelt. I am such a fan of this young lady for many reasons but her grace in life is something all women, young and old, could learn from and emulate. Well done baby girl!

Such wise words sis! …”use it as a stepping stone to reach your full potential.”

Talk about leading by example! I’m so proud that you’ve always made the conscious choice to be your best self regardless of a circumstance that could have influenced otherwise. That ability alone makes you one exceptional young lady! With your determination and a wonderful mother to guide you, you’re destined for greatness!

    Love you Always!

Cydney you are true inspiration! As a product of a single mother household, I understand how difficult it can be, especially when you are younger, to watch the relationship other kids have with their fathers. I am glad you stopped blaming yourself and chose happiness.
You are a light for other young women who may be dealing with a similar situation. I am so proud of you for being vocal about your truth and putting this side of yourself on display. I know the greatness that is inside of you and have watched it grow over the years. You are a champion and drive me to keep reaching for my goals. Thank you for being you!

    Hey Cydney,
I am so incredibly proud of your resilience and ability to acknowledge and handle such a sensitive topic in this brave manner. You and auntie Ros are my inspiration and motivation to bear through the challenges of being a single mother. You have an incredible success story of what can be done when you have a positive perspective. Yes, it does suck but you’ve truly been blessed when it comes to your mom. Zain and I love you so much and it’s been a blessing for us to watch you grow into the beautiful soul, spirit, young lady that you are.
    Continue to soar! <3

What an amazing story and what an amazing young lady you are Miss Cydney. It makes me very proud to hear your story and know that you have inspired others by telling it. Remember Greatness is not measured by one’s accomplishments but by the opposition one overcomes to reach your goals. Keep Daring Greatly!

Cydney is an amazing teen. She is a great example of what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. It’s true we become who we are due to our circumstances both good and bad. Cydney took the high road during her trying times and became stronger and definitely mature for any age let along for her tender age of 16. She is an inspiration for everyone because she continues to excel. She didn’t ask for the cards she was dealt, no one does. She took lemons and made lemonade. I am so proud of her because she is a gladiator. Keep fighting through your battles Cydney and always know you are blessed and you have so much love and support. Never ever give up on anything you want in life because young lady you are on the path of success. Enjoy the ride!

Thank you so much for interviewing me Anika and Nelly! This is a very personal and vulnerable topic in my life and I’m so glad I was able to share my story with the Archer community. The feedback I’ve been getting from my family and friends just makes this experience so much better. It’s such an honor to be able to empower and inspire others going through the same situation, too.
