Independent Shakespeare Company presents ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to Archer community

The Independent Shakespeare Company (ISC) visited Archer on Oct. 18 to present their production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
The ISC performs annually at Archer for its Shakespeare on the Green event. This is the 12th Archer performance.
The roles of Nicholas Bottom and Egeus were played by Faqir Hassan, who commented on how much he enjoys performing for the Archer community.
“You women are amazing. You are so supportive, so sharp and you get all the jokes and all of the humor,” he said. “It’s a great environment and its beautiful here and we always feel welcomed. It is an amazing experience.”
In previous years, the ISC has performed “Othello,” “Pericles,” “Romeo & Juliet” and many other classics.
The free performance is open to all Archer students, faculty, staff and their families.
“I really enjoy going to Shakespeare on the green every year. I think this was one of the best shows — it was pretty hilarious, and they put a modern twist on A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Anna Allgeyer ’18 said.

The ISC will perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at their studio located at 3191 Casitas Ave Ste 168, Los Angeles, CA 90039. Performances will be going on from Oct.27 – Nov. 20. Ticket prices range from free to $35.
