After a successful season, Archer’s Varsity Softball qualified for CIFs.

Varsity softball started off their season with seven wins and three losses. Captains ShaVonne Higgins ‘14, Maria Roussos ‘14 and Carolyn Zaccaro ‘14  led their team into another triumphant year for Archer softball.

The team has 15 wins to only five losses total— four wins and two losses in league. Tracey Thompson ‘16 comments on the season so far: “The softball season is going really well. We’re having a lot of fun playing and playing well.”

According to Thompson, the best part about this year’s softball season is being on a team “with such amazing people.” She goes on to say that the season was full of “ups and downs.”

She smiles as she recalls their best game: “The best game was the second game against Pacifica Christian. We lost, but it was extremely well played and exciting for both teams… You win some, you lose some.”

The team advanced to CIFs this week and will continue to the next round on May 27. They won their first playoff game yesterday against Avalon High School. According to the MaxPreps website and Archer Athletics, they are second in their league and only down by one win to Faith Baptist and ahead of Pacifica Christian.
