The ninth grade participated in a community service day on Nov. 4, 2015. The freshman heard from guest speakers and attended seminars throughout the day.
The overall theme for the day was how faith and religion can inspire someone to volunteer in their community. This theme is based on the next unit that the ninth grade will be completing in their history classes — world religions and beliefs.
“It was really intriguing to see how people use their faith as their reasoning and motivation for community service,” Sidney Velasquez ’19 said.
“It was interesting to be exposed to different cultures and different beliefs that you aren’t a part of,” Doris Sandberg ’19 said.
