The walkway in the Archer courtyard is soaked with rain. This week, Los Angeles experienced rain multiple times, which is highly unusual.

This past week in Los Angeles, it rained on Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday, and it was very, very exciting. When the weather is something other than 100 percent sunny, Angelenos often don’t know what to do, including myself. I have a really difficult time getting into a car with an umbrella without rain drops getting on the seat. Does this happen to anyone else?

I have witnessed classmates and teachers alike rushing over to the window during class to see if the rumor is true. Is it actually raining? The City of Angels seems to go berserk when water decides to fall from the sky, and since many people aren’t sure what to do, I’ve come up with five things to do in Los Angeles on a rainy day.

1. SEE A MOVIE:

– iPic Theaters in Westwood has incredibly comfortable seats that come with individual tables where customers can relax and directly order food off the menu. If you purchase a Premium Plus seat, you will be welcomed with large chairs that fully recline, and each one comes with a pillow and blanket. Also, there is unlimited free popcorn. Yes, you read that right!

– The Landmark at Westside Pavilion has a great mix of both independent and mainstream movies. Some films currently playing include “La La Land,” “Julieta,” “Paterson,” “Manchester by the Sea” and “Lion.”

2. GO TO A BOOKSTORE:

– Book Soup in West Hollywood sells a variety of books, gifts and vinyl records. The shop is known for its floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and often hosts book readings and signings.

– Samuel French Film & Theatre Bookshop is located on Sunset, and the store is perfect for anyone who loves film, writing and theater. Samuel French sells everything from screenplays to movie posters to funny knick knacks. I could spend hours here!

3. GO TO A MUSEUM:

– What’s more appropriate than visiting the Rain Room at LACMA on a rainy day in Los Angeles? Visitors can go in the rain without getting wet. That’s my kind of weather!

– “Pop For The People: Roy Lichtenstein in L.A. is on display at The Skirball until March 12. The interactive exhibit allows guests to step inside of a Van Gogh bedroom and immerse themselves in one of pop art’s most influential artists.

4. GRAB A CUP OF HOT CHOCOLATE:

– Make it at home! Swiss Miss is my specialty.

– Head to Cafe Demitasse to taste their legendary lavender flavor. They have three locations: one in Santa Monica, one on Wilshire and one in Little Tokyo. They are currently opening their fourth in West Hollywood.

5. FIND A GREAT INDOOR MALL THAT REMINDS YOU OF THE 80s:

– Since most shopping centers in LA tend to be outdoors, head to Westfield Topanga for a fun afternoon. The indoor mall includes everything from Sephora to a delicious churros eatery.
