Featured above is the Grass-Fed Beef Burger with lettuce, tomato, gruyère, sriracha and “1000 Island” dressing. It costs $13. I ordered it with no bun, instead choosing the “in the bowl” option, with a side of fries.

If you’re looking for a trendy yet relaxed restaurant, you should absolutely dine at Zinqué. Located in the heart of West Hollywood, customers can sit indoors or outside on the patio, the latter of which features a rustic fireplace. Zinqué is open for every meal, and the restaurant brilliantly combines French food with the Los Angeles atmosphere.

The West Hollywood location opened in 2014 after the original one on Abbot Kinney in Venice. The owner Emmanuel Rossetti chose a minimalist, sophisticated aesthetic that perfectly complements the menu. The third location recently opened in Newport Beach in 2016.

As I sat under an umbrella watching the rain outside, heaters surrounded me, and my latte came in under three minutes.

As I peered through the window, I noticed the eclectic types of people— writers working on their laptops, groups of friends chatting and even someone hosting a bridal shower.

A latte sits on a table. The service at Zinqué is incredibly fast.

I ordered the grass-fed beef burger with no bun, adding avocado and a side of fries. Like my latte, the burger came quickly, within 15 minutes, with my server checking in to see if everything was to my liking.

Halfway through the meal, I wanted to move to a table where I could charge my laptop, and the manager quickly helped me move to a communal table. As I sipped my latte, the restaurant continued to get busier, even at the in-between meal hour of 4:00 p.m.

The menu has an entire section devoted to tartines, which are French open-faced sandwiches with a sweet or savory topping. According to Zinque’s website, they are served on “toasted poilâne bread from Paris.”

Another featured item on the menu is “Le Bowl,” which consists of avocado, tomato, arugula, comte, parmesan, cilantro and sriracha with chicken or an egg white frittata. This particular dish costs $13. There is also the option to add brown or cauliflower rice for $5, ahi tuna for $4, smoked salmon for $3 or ratatouille for $3.

Overall, I would highly recommend Zinque to anyone looking for a laid-back restaurant with a fun environment — not to mention, the food is outstanding. There are various vegetarian options, too, and anyone will be able to find a dish to their liking. The ambiance and service are fantastic as well. It is absolutely the perfect spot to meet up with friends or even go alone like I did and enjoy the ambiance and people-watching.

You can find Zinqué at 8684 Melrose Ave in West Hollywood, and their phone number is (424) 284-3930. Be sure to arrive on the earlier side if you want to find a table quickly.
