Stella Leland (‘26) played the knave and reflected on their favorite part of rehearsals. “What stands out a lot is always the first read-through of something. Whenever we do that at any production — some of us might have read this script beforehand — its the first time the show is seen with everyone,” Leland said. “Who they are, their characters and everything, and its the first time youre like, ‘Oh, I can tell whats going to happen now.’ Its just a nice moment.”

The candy aisle of a Target store represents the abundance of choices people have in our society on a day-to-day level, which can ultimately lead to decision fatigue. Decision fatigue is when you make poorer decisions due the exhaustion that comes from making a lot of previous decisions; I suggest combating it by decreasing the number of decisions you make per day, which leaves more mental energy for important choices.

Lucy Williams joined the Oracle as a staff reporter in 2021 and became the Voices Editor in 2023. Outside of journalism, she runs a Los Angeles food blog on Tiktok and Instagram under the epithet "Little Savvy." She also serves on the Hermanas Unidas club board and the DemocraShe Leadership Team and is passionate about reading and sociology.

Juniors stored their phones in the dean hub on Tech-Free Friday, Feb. 2. Freshmen, juniors and seniors participated throughout January as part of the grade-level deans’ Tech-Free Friday initiative. During their phone-free days, students reflected on their relationship with screens and how they impact their ability to follow schedules, receive news and communicate with others.

My younger sister and I work at the register at Timeless Treasures Ticktocker Thrift Shop in Culver City. We were nervous for our first time managing the register, as our people skills had gotten worse due to quarantine. However, spending hours talking to customers helped us improve communication with them through words and friendly gestures.

History teacher Beth Gold teaches her ninth grade students about Ibram X Kendis childrens book, Antiracist Baby.
