Cha Cha Matcha is a Los Angeles classic. The company first opened in 2016 in New York City, soon expanding its menu to include matcha soft serve. As the business gained popularity, it opened two new L.A. locations: one in West Hollywood and the other on Abbot Kinney in Venice. Cha Cha Matcha is known for its ceremonial-grade, light matcha tea. There are many different options to choose from on the menu — matcha lemonade, matcha chai and the purple drink are only a few of their delicious options. However, my personal favorite would have to be the deliciously creamy strawberry matcha. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves the flavor of matcha — it’s one of my go-to spots.

With locations all across Los Angeles, La La Land Kind Cafe is another of my favorite places to stop for a drink. I normally go to the one on Montana Avenue; it’s the perfect end to a long day of shopping and eating. Founded as a platform for change, this cafe provides paid internships to help youth move from foster care into adulthood. Not only does La La Land Kind Cafe offer feel-good vibes, its also offers feel-good drinks, including amazing matcha. They have a vast variety of matcha flavored options, including a delicious fall French toast matcha latte. If you’re looking for a place to drink matcha infused with unique flavors, then this is the place for you.

Clark Street is a fan favorite amongst Archer students. Their first location opened at Grand Central Market in Downtown, L.A., but they now have opened locations in Larchmont, Brentwood and Echo Park. The Brentwood location is right across the street from both Archer and the Brentwood School, so Clark Street is always swarming with students. Although they are famous for flaky, warm pastries, like croissants and blueberry muffins, their matcha is equally as delicious. Clark Street’s matcha latte is for those who prefer a more bitter, organic taste. However, if you’re like me and have a giant sweet tooth, there is an option to order it with vanilla flavoring or honey. All in all, Clark Street is the perfect free-period pitstop for silky, smooth matcha.

The first time I tried Alfred Coffee’s matcha, I instantly knew it would be another one of my go-to matcha places. It’s simply astounding. It first opened on Melrose Place, and it is renowned for its world-famous Iced Vanilla Latte. This international coffee shop also has several locations across L.A. Although the coffees are delicious, Alfred offers a selection of matcha drinks with flavors similar to La La Land Kind Cafe and Cha Cha Matcha. My personal favorite is the iced matcha lavender latte.
