S6E14 – A walk in the park: The Scoop on importance of public parks and community green spaces

In this episode of The Scoop, multimedia reporter Izzie Erickson (‘28) interviewed sophomores Josie Le Blanc and Bonnie Van Hoytema, along with two guardians of kids at the park, Jaida and Validea. They investigate the importance of parks and how these community spaces encourage stronger social skills for kids, while also improving residents mental health.

Izzie Erickson joined the Oracle as a staff reporter in 2024, and is now a multimedia student. Izzie will play for Archer’s Beach volleyball team in the spring and in her free time volunteers for assisted living facilities. She loves baking, watching TV and shopping with friends.
