One hundred eighty-three guests visited campus for Archer’s Annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Feb. 13, Middle School Coordinator Mindy Stone said.
Since 2000, grandparents and special friends have been invited to visit the school and spend time with their Archer girls.
The visitors started arriving around 10 a.m. Once they found their middle-schoolers, the festivities commenced with a presentation from Head of School Elizabeth English, Middle School President Sophia Fink and Middle School Director Karen Pavliscak.
“Seeing the joy in the [grandparents’ and friends’] faces as they walked in the footsteps of their middle school hosts made me so very proud,” Pavliscak said.
The grandparents and special friends wrote something they loved about their Archer girls on a piece of paper. The messages were delivered to each girl at the beginning of the next week.
“My favorite part of the day was having my grandmother comment on how amazing the school was when she saw it. It felt very good to hear her feedback on how great of a school I had chosen to go to,” Grace Kerner ’16 said.
“I love seeing how excited the middle schoolers are to be able to take someone close to them around the school that isn’t their parents,” Stone said.
