On Saturday, March 7, the Debate Team competed at the Western Bay Forensics League (WBFL) State Qualifier at Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California.
Noemi Holczer ’15, Sarah Wagner ’16, Anika Bhavnani ’17, Marine Yamada ’17, Isabel Adler ’17 and Ciel Torres ’17 debated in the Public Forum category. The girls debated the following issue: “In the United States, students should be guaranteed two years of free tuition to a community or technical college.”
Out of seven elimination rounds, Holczer and Wagner competed in three, Bhavnani and Yamada in five and Adler and Torres in six.
“I am so proud of all of the work the team did this year,” debate coach Kate Webster said. “They went farther in the elimination round than Archer has in a long time… they have had a really successful year overall.”
