Surviving of the Holocaust: Lindsay Cayton ’16 shares through photography
In the midst of Spirit Week, Lindsay Cayton ’16 shared a powerful message from the past with her photography display.
Cayton displayed her photography in the upstairs gallery. She created the pieces for her independent study in photography.
“For as long as I can remember, my parents and grandparents have instilled in me the importance of being Jewish and how important it is to keep the story alive of those who persevered and survived the Holocaust because it was such a horrific event that should never be forgotten or repeated,” Cayton wrote in her artist statement.
Each of the portraits included a quote from the survivor and summary of their experiences during the Holocaust.
She was able to get in contact with the survivors through the Los Angeles Holocaust Museum, where her mother is on the board.
