Breaking: African runners win annual Los Angeles Marathon
Jackson 5 music and spectators cheering could be heard from down the street as runners participated in the annual LA Marathon on Mar. 18.
This year’s marathon — which included around 24,000 participants, according to the Los Angeles Times —ran from Dodger Stadium to the Santa Monica Pier.
This year’s winners are Weldon Kirui from Kenya for the men’s race and Sule Gedo from Ethiopia for the women’s race.
This is the second time in three years that Kirui has won the men’s race.
