Fall is here, which means the 2013 WNBA season is finishing and the NBA is just getting started.
Now it’s time for the women to relax after a season full of hard fought games between teams from all over the world. As the WNBA season comes to an end, the standings are set with another championship for the Minnesota Lynx after a tough game against the Atlanta Dream.
The NBA kicked off their 68 pre-season with their first game on Monday, Oct. 5. More exhibition games were scheduled for the rest of the month including a game between our LA Lakers and the Utah Jazz on Friday, Oct. 25. The official season started Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Last year the championship was given to the Miami Heat in a game against the San Antonio Spurs. This year ESPN predicts that the Heat will still have the “championship charm.” However, the Heat will face opposition from championship-hungry teams in the West.
The Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers played in a tight game— Lakers winning 116 to 103. Previous NBA champs the Heat beat the Bulls with a score of 107 to 95. The latest game was the Magic versus the Pacers. The Pacers won 97 to 87.
Congratulations to all the 2013 WNBA teams for their accomplishments this past season, and good luck in the future to each team competing in the NBA this coming season.
