The Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club (GSA) had its first meeting in the HD room today at lunch. GSA is one of the many affinity and alliance clubs Archer has on campus. Led by seniors Marie Chorpita and Zoë Applebaum-Schwartz, GSA welcomes all members who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community as well as allies.

Chorpita said that the club will discuss “important LGBT issues and history and current events and intersectionality” over the course of the year.

“Ideally, GSA is just going to serve as a safe space for Archer’s LGBT communities and their straight allies to come and discuss issues and current events,” Applebaum-Schwartz said. “Ultimately, [they’ll] just feel empowered to be themselves in a safe community.”

GSA meets every Wednesday lunch in the HD room.
