Track and field athlete Nia Mosby first to qualify for CIF state championships
Junior varsity track and field athlete Nia Mosby has made Archer athletic history by being the first track and field runner to qualify for the CIF State Track and Field Championships.
Mosby will run the 200 meters and 400 meters for Archer at the 101st CIF state championship. Mosby will compete this Friday and Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Buchanan High School in Clovis, California.
“I am blessed to have the opportunity to even run,” Mosby said. “I have trained for this all year, and it is cool to see my goal become accomplished.”
One of Mosby’s strategies for this weekends competition will be focusing on “mindset” when doing her two events.
“When running, one important factor is your mindset, more than anything else,” Mosby said. “You have to have strength and endurance and energy, but your mindset can really take you through the finish line.”
Tickets are available here to attend the championships.
