The candy aisle of a Target store represents the abundance of choices people have in our society on a day-to-day level, which can ultimately lead to decision fatigue. Decision fatigue is when you make poorer decisions due the exhaustion that comes from making a lot of previous decisions; I suggest combating it by decreasing the number of decisions you make per day, which leaves more mental energy for important choices.

A common phrase I constantly hear during the new year is, “New year, new me.” The “new” before “me” is crossed out to represent my belief that New Year's resolutions are unproductive ways to create meaningful change in your life, which is why I embrace the phrase, "New year, same me."
