Self-Love Isn’t Selfish S1E3 – The ‘incessant’ fangirl: Women should not be criticized for finding joy, community in artists

On this episode of Self-Love Isn’t Selfish, host Olivia Hallinan-Gan (‘26) discusses the differences between how male fans and female fans are perceived. She highlights how women are always seen as “overly enthusiastic,” while men can simply be enthusiastic. She also mentions the joy and community many can find in fanbases.

Olivia Hallinan-Gan joined The Oracle as a staff reporter in 2022. In 2023 she became Copy Editor of Hestia's Flame and a podcaster on The Oracle. Her podcast centers around self-love and self-care.  She is on Dance Leadership Team, on Archer's swim team, in chess club, a member of the Ambassador Leadership Team, an editor on Hestia's Flame, on the robotics team and a part of the  Artemis Center. In her free time, you can see her playing with her dog, reading and cooking for her family.
