On this episode of The Feminist Focus, host Olivia Hallinan-Gan (‘26) dives into her favorite feminist books written by women. She explores books from the 20th and 21st centuries. Some of the books are considered feminist literature, while others contain underlying feminist messaging. The novels are Animal by Lisa Taddeo, Tomorrow Sex Will Be Good Again: Women and Desire in the Age of Consent by Katherine Angel, This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color, Down the Drain by Julia Fox and Bad Feminist by Roxanne Gay.

Olivia Hallinan-Gan joined The Oracle as a staff reporter in 2022. In 2023, she joined Hestia’s Flame and became a podcaster on The Oracle. She was editor-in-chief of the yearbook in 2005-2006. Olivia’s podcast explored how ideological and political ideals affect women, specifically teenage girls. She was a part of Dance Leadership Team, chess club, Ambassador Leadership Team and the Artemis Center. In her free time, you could find her watching movies at her local theater, reading and spending time with friends. Olivia graduated in 2026.
