As a team, they won second place overall and had two students place individually: Leyla Namazie ’17 won seventh place and Cameron Thompson ’18 won 10th.

“It was really exciting and we were really happy,” said runner Sara Weitz ’18.

During the awards ceremony, the whole team walked up to the platform to receive the second place plaque. “We weren’t expecting it at all,” said Weitz.

After the day came to an end, the Archer Athletics’ Facebook page posted a photo of team members celebrating their victory at the UCLA soccer game versus Stanford.

The cross country team also went to Mt. Sac, “the largest cross country race in Southern California,” Mathis wrote in an email.

Upcoming meets can be found on the Cross Country Schedule located on the Archer Athletics website.
