Review: Vegan Glory offers unique Thai dishes
Located minutes away from Beverly Center, Vegan Glory is a Thai vegan and vegetarian restaurant that keeps up with all of the latest food trends.
Vegan Glory mainly uses vegetables, tofu and soy-based meat substitutes in their dishes. Although the majority of the menu consists of Thai and Thai fusion options, the restaurant also offers various wraps, veggie burgers and salads.
As noted on Vegan Glory’s menu, the green curry is a “medium spicy green chili paste with coconut milk, sweet basil, bell pepper, eggplant, bamboo shoots, fresh herbs and spices” and costs $9.95. The entree comes with a side of brown or white rice. The restaurant offers different options of adding soy chicken, soy fish, soy pepper steak, seitan, tofu or vegetables. For an extra dollar, customers can add soy shrimp, soy chicken nuggets or soy beef chunks.
The dish was very filling and did not feel as heavy as some classic green curries can. It was a great alternative to the authentic Thai dish.
One of the most popular items on the menu is the pad thai, which is pictured to the right with soy chicken.
You truly would never be able to tell the soy chicken is not real chicken because it has the look and consistency of actual meat.
The delicious dish consists of their “exclusive” pad thai sauce, bean sprouts, green onion and crushed peanuts.
The restaurant has a relaxed environment and creates a welcoming atmosphere. It is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The staff members are accommodating of both vegans and non-vegans and are very patient with any questions regarding the menu. However, all of their ingredients are “strictly vegan and most are organic,”
Vegan Glory is located at 8393 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90048, and their phone number is 323-653-4900.
Summary
Vegan Glory is a great alternative to a typical Thai restaurant. The restaurant is very accommodating to both vegans and non-vegans.
