The Archer varsity tennis team poses before a game. The team is currently undefeated and most recently beat Buckley 11-7.

The varsity tennis team played Buckley and won 11-7. This improves their overall Liberty League record to 3-0.

Last season the team finished second in the Liberty League playoff.

Rachel Ferrera ’18, a co-captain, attributes their win over Buckley on Wednesday, Sep. 27,  to the close connections between all of the girls on the team.

“The team this year is the most bonded it’s ever been,” Ferrera said.

Co-captain Isabella Simanowitz ’18 credited the team’s success to their willingness to take risks.

“I think [taking risks] really worked. In all of the matches that were played that day, I saw the team taking risks and playing their hearts out. The win was just icing on the cake,” Simanowitz said. “I am really excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.”
