Vaughn Anoa’i ’22 and Bella Morgan ’21 block the ball as their opponent hits it over the net. The varsity volleyball team will move on to the next round of CIF playoffs next week.

Last night, the Archer varsity volleyball team played against The Buckley School in a five-game series to win the league championship.

The teams were tied up to two until the last game, when the Panthers defeated the Griffins 15 to 7. The Panthers are the only team in the league to have beaten Buckley.

The game was played at Park Century School in Culver City, CA.

“Even though we lost games two and three and we were low in spirits, we were able to come together to fight and win the game,” Alizeh Jarrahy ’20 said.

On Oct. 18, the varsity volleyball team will play round one of the CIF playoffs at Archer’s home court at Park Century School.
