On Wednesday night, Archer’s varsity soccer team played against Pomona Catholic in a home game at Santa Monica College. Archer lost the game 2-0.

Senior Jenna Marks said she was proud of how the team played. She said that the Pomona Catholic team is ranked in CIF, but that Archer was able to put up a good game.

“We thought they were very aggressive and we fought right back,” Marks said. “We connected our passes really well. I can really tell that we are going to go far this year.”

Junior Stella Kraus said the team struggled with keeping possession in the second half, which led to the loss, but believes the season will go well.

“So far we’ve had some good wins and some disappointing losses, but we are definitely progressing from game to game. We definitely hope to go undefeated in league and to go far in CIF playoffs,” Kraus said. “I think that we all know that we have a really good team this year and are capable of achieving our goals.”

The team’s next game is on Dec. 19 against Campbell Hall.
