Let’s be real, Archer girls don’t have to think twice about outfits in the morning. We have our trendy uniforms to rely on! But what about other times? Here are some tips to organize your closet to find the perfect outfit.
Scenario: The Frantic Fashionista
Say you’re going to a birthday party, or maybe something as casual as a movie and ice cream with friends. As a classic fashionista, your first question is “What will I wear?” You search and search through your closet—throwing clothes all around your room until your head is spinning. Sitting in the middle of your bedroom, hopeless, you feel like it’s the end of the world. At this point, you are seriously considering staying in because you just can’t find anything to wear. If only your closet was organized…
Step One: The Purge
Step one to organizing your closet is to get rid of the clothes you don’t wear/want anymore. As much fun as it is to hold on to those way-too-small skinny jeans from third grade, you will feel like a new person when you finally let them go. Something that might make this process a little easier is to donate your old clothes to charity. There is definitely someone out there who would get a lot more use out of them.
Step Two: The Organization
The next step in organizing your closet is making sure that all clothes are completely visible. Although you may be convinced your sister has stolen that brand new shirt, chances are it’s probably just hiding underneath a pile of all your other chic and stylish clothing. An easy solution to this problem is to situate the clothes in your closet based off of which you wear the most. Simply pull out some of the clothes you may not wear as often and put them towards the center of your closet, and the clothes you wear on a weekly basis on either side of them. That way, you get more use out of those super cute clothes you forgot you had and put the ones you often wear to rest for a little while.
Another great way to organize your closet is to go to a store like Target or the Container Store, where you can buy shelves and bins for low prices. For example, the 10 Pocket Shoe Organizer from Target is a handy way to separate your shoes from the rest of your accessories.
Step Three: The Celebration
Organizing your closet can be fun if you make the best of it. Make a playlist with your favorite songs, have Mom fix you your favorite snack, and organize!
