Archer Dance Troupe Steals Spotlight at American Jewish University

Archer+Dance+Troupe+Steals+Spotlight+at+American+Jewish+University

On Feb. 22 and 23, Archer’s annual Dance Troupe performance took place at the American Jewish University.

Andrea Locke, the director of Archer’s dance program, collaborated with the company captains to create the theme of this year’s show, titled “Your Journey. Your Revolution.” Locke said, “Everybody has a journey and makes choices, and there is a transformation within that journey.”

Locke explained that it took a lot of preparation to showcase the performance. She chose captains to represent each grade and production managers to help make the show the best it could possibly be.

She also introduced Roni Blak of MNR Dance Factory to the program to help student choreographers strengthen their dance numbers. It took a group of parent volunteers, students from the dance leadership team, weekly meetings, and the 80 dedicated dancers to make the show as flawless as possible.

Oracle staff member Marcela Riddick ’16 was at the show and took this series of photographs. Click on the first image to start the slideshow.
