Varsity basketball, soccer teams celebrate Senior Night, honor years of athletic dedication

The song “The Final Countdown” by Europe has never been more relevant for the seniors on the varsity basketball and soccer teams.

Senior Night is a tradition that honors senior athletes in their final home game of the regular season. This season, senior basketball players, Joyce Barahona, Cydney Davis, Alex Feldman, Josie Garcia-Euyoque and Dani Roberts, and soccer player Caitlin Mosch were honored.

In a crowded gym at Park Century School, the basketball team defeated AGBU 61-19 on Jan. 30.

A few days later on Feb. 2, the varsity soccer team continued their seven game winning streak, and defeated  Oakwood 4-0  at Santa Monica College.

The basketball team finished their regular season with an overall record of 15-11. The soccer team finished undefeated in the Liberty League with a 10-0 record, which is the first time the Archer varsity soccer team has won every league game.

Both teams are heading into playoffs, which means there are still balls that need to be dribbled and kicked before the seniors’ time with Archer athletics is over.
