On Wednesday May 21, the Hermanas Unidas club hosted a homemade guacamole competition.  Earlier in the year, the club hosted a similar “salsa de mi casa” competition.

Each student entered in the competition brought homemade guacamole to share with students, as well as to be judged by a panel of teacher judges— Hannah Shofi, Tracy Ganzer and Valerie Yoshimura.

Each student competed for Judge Favorite and Fan Favorite. Josie García Euyoque ’18 and Xochitl ’15 García Euyoque won for Judge Favorite.  Runners up for Judge Favorite were Diane and Sophia Lugo (both ’15). Isabel Raspi ’20 won first place for Fan Favorite, and runner up for this category was Antonia Haley ’14.

All of the contestants will win spirit points for their grade.
