Video Update: Panther volleyball brings home Southern California title

For the first time in Archer’s 23 year history, a varsity team won a CIF-SS championship.

On Nov. 10, varsity volleyball faced Foothill Technology in the regional CIF Division 7 Final. The Panthers came away victorious, winning 3-1.

“It feels amazing to win CIF-[SS] especially since it’s my last year on the team. The feeling of leaving a legacy at Archer is indescribable, knowing that we can come back and see the banner that’s going to hang in the new gym,” Cydney Davis ’18 said. “The team has worked so hard since July, and to see how all of the hours and effort have paid off is truly the best feeling.”

The video above documents the game and reactions to Archer’s historic game.

The team will continue to the state meet. The date and opponent is to be determined.

During their season, the team had to adjust to the ever-changing weather in Los Angeles this year. Were very consistent with our serves, Zhou said. So even if its raining, we still put effort into the serves and all the practices.
