Spirit Week incorporates new, old themes during major assessment week

Decision fatigue is when you make poorer decisions due the exhaustion that comes from making a lot of previous decisions; I suggest combating it by decreasing the number of decisions you make per day, which leaves more mental energy for important choices.

Grace Doyle joined the Oracle as a staff reporter in 2019 and served as the Sports Editor in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years. She loves journalism and attended the School of the New York Times for two summers studying journalism basics and national security reporting. She also held an internship with Cape Cod Broadcasting Media. She graduated in 2022.

Michael Carter leads his mentorship in announcements and conversation. He hopes that the students he mentors will have a well rounded college experience. Dont get bogged down in such a rigid program, Carter said. Dont miss out on the other academic richness but also social richness.

Belwood Bakery, located in the Brentwood village, attracts many Archer students. Soon to be graduated seniors reflect on their love for the bakery. “I would warn people about the price because I feel like it’s very expensive,” senior Leah Abazari said. “But it’s worth it.”

Nichol Whiteman, Kiesha Nix, Michelle Bohan and Marlene Tsuchii-Dalston sit on a panel of women in leadership positions in different industries. The panelists, chosen by the Archer Alumni Board, spoke about a range of topics from their journeys to leadership to the advice they would give to their younger selves. “I feel like every day I take my whole community to work with me,” Nix said. “They’re counting on me. I can’t let them down — This is bigger than me. It’s great that I accomplished this but what can I do to pave the way for the next me?”

Runners speed off at one of their meets. When looking at the season as a whole freshman Gabriella Spechieralla said it was rewarding. Cross country is such a challenging sport and its very tiring and to look back on all of the hard work weve put in and all of the miles weve run is really rewarding, Spechieralla said. And just see how far weve come from the beginning of the season — its great.

Speaking to the environment thus far, Director of Athletics Kim Smith said the team was enjoying themselves. Ive been out there, and it looks like theyre enjoying themselves, learning the skills and, you know, putting them together, Smith said. Theyre meeting new friends and it seems like a positive, great outlet for them.
